I Campionati Europei Giovanili di Dressage non hanno permesso solo a DATTI ALL’IPPICA di seguire l’evento in qualità di media partner ma anche a chi scrive di far parte dell’ufficio stampa della manifestazione e viverne così tutti i retroscena.
Scopriamone qualcuno!

Questa edizione 2019 è stata definita da molti un vero e proprio successo organizzativo, a partire dalla chef d’equipe tedesca Maria Schierholter Otte che ha dichiarato alla conferenza stampa del 27 luglio: “Speriamo che i Campionati vengano riorganizzati qui in futuro, in Italia”. Saranno i nove ori ad aver addolcito gli amici teutonici, ma il giudizio sembrava sincero e vi garantisco che alle sue parole un sorriso a 32 denti si è stampato sul volto di tutti, da Cesare Croce alla sottoscritta che da dietro il telefonino trasmetteva in diretta Facebook, da oltre un’ora, con beneficio dei bicipiti.

I Campionati sono stati un vero e proprio spettacolo in cui le diverse culture hanno messo in scena il proprio modo di vivere lo sport: dall’abbigliamento al tifo. A partire dalla cerimonia d’apertura tutti i Team hanno iniziato a sfidarsi a colpi di stile, dalle divise più classiche del Portogallo e della Spagna, passando per i folkloristici Austriaci, agli eleganti e sportivi Francesi, per finire con i ragazzi del Team Italia, d’azzurro vestiti, panama sul capo e con la claque di genitori più scatenata di tutte a bordo campo, in una parola: ‘ganzissimi’!
Nei giorni successivi si è proseguito con Swarovski e acconciature, lotta ad armi pari fra le amazzoni tedesche che hanno scelto per le competizioni un frontalino con strass a onorare i colori della Germania e la dolcissima Melanie Bartz con il cavallo più elegante di tutti che è entrato in campo con una perla a fermare ogni treccia della criniera.
La settimana a Cattolica, soprattutto quella del Press Office, è stata caratterizzata anche da peripezie, maratone per l’intero maneggio ad organizzare interviste e conferenze stampa e sprint trafelati ufficio-campo Toro, campo Grand Prix-ufficio a suon di “17.42 parte l’italiano, sbrighiamoci!”, il tutto paparazzato da lui, ormai un grande amico che ha contribuito ad alimentare le pagine Instagram dell’ala femminile del Press Office, Rui Pedro Godinho… da noi ribattezzato involontariamente Gordinho. A parte gli scherzi, è un grande fotografo, che nelle pause dal lavoro, con pazienza, ha soddisfatto le nostre pretese da dive hollywoodiane.
E poi le serate in riviera: le scuderie si trasformavano in un vero e proprio villaggio in cui tutti i Team si riunivano e festeggiavano secondo le usanze del proprio paese. Per quanto riguarda il bilancio Italiano pochi aperitivi in riva al mare, ma intense sessioni di partite a carte, con protagonisti assoluti i cavalieri romagnoli Sangiorgi e Spagni a cui si prospetta un piano B da biscazzieri al casinò di Montecarlo… sarò io poco abile nel gioco, ma mi hanno stracciato!
Che dire, è stata una bella avventura e ha fatto sentire tutti, anche chi era dietro le quinte, parte della squadra… non a caso la domenica a fine premiazione anche il Press Office è stato opportunamente ‘coccardato’.

Backstage of the Dressage European Youth Championships

The Dressage European Youth Championships (DEYC) did not only allow DATTI ALL’IPPICA to follow the event as a media partner but also who writes to be part of the press office and thus to live the event from the backstage.
Let’s explore it!

The organization of DEYC 2019 has been considered by all participants very successful, starting with the chef of the German team, Maria Schierholter Otte, who during the press conference on 27^th of July declared: “We do really hope that in future the Championships could be organized again here, in Italy”. Maybe the nine gold medals have sweetened our Teutonic friend, but her auspice seemed sincere and, in any case, I can assure that her statement produced a big smile in all members of the team, from Cesare Croce to … myself, that from bottom was transmitting live on Facebook, for over one hour hanging the mobile phone, for the benefit of my biceps!

DEYC 2019 was a veritable show in which different cultures staged their way of experiencing sport: from the dressware to the way to cheer and be fan. During the opening ceremony, all teams challenged each other in style, from the most classic uniforms of Portugal and Spain, passing through Austrian folklore, to the casual chic mise of French team, ending with the members of Team Italy, in blue clothes, wearing a panama hut and accompanied, on the sidelines, by the most unleashed claque of parents, in a word: ‘super cool’!
In the following days the “fight” continued with Swarovski and horse hairstyles. The German Amazons chose for the competitions a rhinestone harness to reproduce the colors of Germany flag while the sweet Melanie Bartz entered in the field with the most elegant horse: a stop pearl for every mane braid.
The week in Cattolica, especially that one of the Press Office, was very hectic: continuous marathons within the resort to organize interviews and press conferences and, as well, breathless sprints from the office to the Toro and  Grand Prix fields when the alarm ringed “17.42 an Italian is going to start, let’s hurry!”. All that ‘paparazzato’ (read documented by a ‘paparazzo’) by who we may consider a great friend of us, Rui Pedro Godinho … inadvertently renamed ‘Gordinho’ (in Spanish ‘fat’),  that contributed to feed the Instagram pages of all women of the Press Office.  Jokes aside, he is a great photographer, who patiently satisfied our expectations, as veritable Hollywood stars, during breaks.
What’s about the evenings at the Riviera resort?  The stables were transformed into a multiethnic village where each team celebrated according to the customs of their country. Concerning the Italians, not a lot of aperitifs, but intense card-playing sessions, with the absolute protagonists Sangiorgi and Spagni: for sure they have also a future like gamblers at the Casino of Montecarlo … possibly I’m not so skilled , but they always won largely over me!
What to say, it was a great adventure and made everyone feel, even those who were behind the scenes like us, part of the at large italian team … it’s no by coincidence that on Sunday, at the end of the awards ceremony, also the Press Office was appropriately “decorated”.
