Dal prossimo 5 settembre lo Stadio dei Marmi aprirà nuovamente le porte al Longines Global Champions Tour e «DATTI ALL’IPPICA!» anche quest’anno ci sarà e condividerà insieme a voi impressioni riguardo l’edizione 2019. Le squadre di Jan Tops sono al lavoro per organizzare uno degli eventi più attesi da tutti gli appassionati di salto ostacoli. Ancora non si sa molto sulle iniziative che riguarderanno l’imminente tappa romana, nel frattempo perché non dare uno sguardo all’edizione 2018 e cominciare a respirare un po’ d’aria di Global?
Ogni concorso, ogni evento, ogni luogo sono caratterizzati da una propria atmosfera e quella del LGCT di Roma è senza dubbio magica. Non si può infatti non rimanere ammaliati dallo splendore dello Stadio, bianco come la sabbia silicea che sembra riflettere e amplificare la luce che bacia Roma i primi di settembre. Il Foro Italico, in quei giorni, vive in un’altra dimensione: quella dell’equitazione. Chi infatti non si ferma a una prima analisi prettamente sportiva dell’evento, potrà notare come al Global tutti si incontrano. Il LGCT non è solo agonismo di alto livello, dietro, ai lati, a sostegno di tutto questo c’è un altro Global, fatto di groom che si prendono cura in ogni instante dei campioni (a quattro zoccoli e non), di associazioni che permettono il primo approccio al pony, di ippomamme che dopo aver percorso km per assecondare i desideri dei figli si concedono una seduta rigenerante dal parrucchiere o dalla shiatsuka del Global. E poi fotografi, giornalisti, organizzatori, sponsor e… ottimo cibo per tutti, insieme al suono degli zoccoli dei cavalli il sottofondo più presente nello Stadio dei Marmi è senza dubbio quello delle posate! Tutti aspetti che dipingono il Global come l’evento di tutti. Il colosso made in Walkenswaard, a chi lo vive da dentro, appare come una grande macchina i cui ingranaggi sono programmati perfettamente. Sicuramente merito dell’efficiente mente olandese di Tops, ma non manca lo zampino del nostro paese. Marco Danese, Eleonora Di Giuseppe, Uliano Vezzani, Stefano Grasso, Alessandro Centinaio, Mauro Pisoni solo per citarne alcuni… insomma il Global parla anche italiano! Sarà per questo che l’internazionale a cinque stelle più famoso del mondo sa anche un po’ di casa.

Everyone’s Global

From next 5th of September the Stadio dei Marmi will host once again the Longines Global Champions Tour and «DATTI ALL’ IPPICA!» will be there, ready to share with you impressions about the new edition. Jan Tops’ team, as usual, is working hard to organize, at best, one of the most looked forward events by all show jumping fans. Not much is known yet about the initiatives that will animate the imminent Roman stage of the LGCT. In the meantime let’s have a look at what happened during the 2018 edition, just to start getting into the Global mood!
Every contest, every event, every place is characterized by its own atmosphere and that one of the LGCT in Rome is undoubtedly magical: everyone gets raved by the splendor of the Stadium, white as the silica sand that reflects and amplify the light that kisses Rome in early September. The Foro Italico, in those days, lives in another dimension: that one of a multifaceted horse riding event. Those who do not stop at the “surface” of the daily competitions, will be able to see the Global as a meeting point for everyone. The LGCT is not only the Formula 1 of the show jumping. Behind, on the sides, in support of, there is another Global, made up of grooms who take care of champions (with hooves or not), of associations that allow youngest pupils to have the first approach to the pony, of ‘hippomammies’ who, after traveling miles to satisfy their children’s desires, get a regenerating session by the hairdresser or by a shiatsuka. And then photographers, journalists, organizers, sponsors and… of course, excellent food for everyone. Along with the sound of horse hooves, the most popular musical background in the Stadio dei Marmi is, without doubt, that one of cutlery! All aspects that confirm the Global as everyone’s event. The ‘giant’ created in Walkenswaard, to ones who live this experience from within, looks like a big machine whose gears are perfectly programmed. Certainly all that thanks to the efficient Dutch mind of Tops, but as well to the top professionalism of many Italians: Marco Danese, Eleonora Di Giuseppe, Uliano Vezzani, Stefano Grasso, Alessandro Centinaio, Mauro Pisoni just to name a few of them… in short, the Global also speaks Italian! That’s probably why we felt a little bit the most famous five-star international competition in the world as a home one.
